Dr. Raj Bala (Environmental)
She was a recipient of Gold Medal in M.Sc. (Environmental Sciences) from Panjab University Chandigarh. She was awarded Junior Research Fellowship from UGC for pursuing her Ph.D. She successfully completed her Ph.D. on the research topic “Socio-Environmental Impact of Information Technology Industry in Chandigarh, India” from the Department of Environmental Science, P.U, Chandigarh in 2011. Prior to join DAV University (1st August, 2013), she has worked as Assistant Professor at the Post-Graduate Government College, Sector-46 Chandigarh for six years (1st August, 2006-31st July, 2013).Her poster was awarded 2nd prize in NESA Conference (2006) and 1st prize in 1st Chandigarh Science Congress (2007). She has presented her 15 research papers in various International, National, State and Regional conferences. She has 5 research papers published in National journals and one research paper as a chapter in edited book. She has also published one book “Environment and Road Safety Education” for Undergraduate courses strictly accordingly to the new syllabus prescribed by Panjab university Chandigarh in July 2012 in English, Hindi and Punjabi medium. She participated in the Asian Water Bird Census (2018) with Mr. T.K Roy, Ecologist, Conservationist, AWC State Coordinator, Delhi, at Kanjli Wetland (Ramsar Site) with the aim of conservation of wetland & water birds. She was one of the member in panel discussion among educationists on the theme "Quick response to atrocities, calamities and adversities" organized by CTCE, Maqsudan, Jalandhar. She also delivered guest lectures on “Effects of Ozone Depletion” and “Solid Waste Management” in Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, and Village- Kishangarh, Jalandhar during the Swaach Bharat Abhiyaan celebration by NSS Wing of DAV University respectively. She acted as girl’s hostel warden from 31st July 2013 to 15th September, 2013. She is working as a NSS Programme officer and a member of Green STP sub-committee in DAV University.
