Dr. Ashish Sharma (Coordinator)
He completed his M.Sc. in Plant Physiology and Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and Microbiology from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. During his Ph.D., he worked on the uptake and distribution of micronutrients in the rice plant. His research focused on the specific distribution of zinc and iron in rice grains treated with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria.
He has qualified CSIR-NET and GATE in Life Sciences, as well as the ARS-NET in Plant Physiology (2009) and Plant Sciences (2010).
He has actively been involved in research after completion of Ph.D. with the outcome being award of M.Sc. degree to 19 students and Ph.D. to 5 scholars. His areas of research vary from nutrient uptake, nutrient toxicity, stress physiology, combination stress to phytoremediation. The scholars currently under his guidance are working on combination stress and phytoremediation problems. His research interests include photobiology, plant nutrition, nutrient uptake and distribution in plants, and the use and application of nanotechnology in plant-based systems.
He has published 34 articles in international peer-reviewed journals & books and has presented his work at various national and international conferences and seminars.
