Dr. Keshav Walia is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, DAV University, Jalandhar. He received his Masters degree in Physics from National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar with a Gold-Medal. He completed his PhD in the field of Plasma Physics from National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. He worked as postdoctoral research scientist in the Institute for Plasma research (IPR), Gandhinagar.
Dr. Walia is an active researcher in the field of theoretical plasma physics. His research interests include laser-plasma interaction, nonlinear waves in plasma and particle acceleration. The aim of his research is to develop an alternate source of energy by utilizing the technique of ICF. He has published 71 research papers in Journals of International repute. He has already attended twenty four international scientific events outside India and presented his research work in these events. He was jointly selected by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and German Research Foundation (DFG), Germany amongst 18 young scientists of India for attending 62nd Nobel Laureates meeting dedicated to Physics at Lindau , Germany in 2012.
He has been awarded prestigious research fellowships such as INSPIRE Fellowship from DST, DAE postdoctoral fellowship from IPR Gandhinagar, Indo-German Bilateral visiting scientist fellowship for research visit in Germany etc. He has also been invited twelve times by "The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics", Italy for participating in international scientific activities at ICTP, Italy during 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. He is recipient of full financial support from Department of science and technology (DST) & Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for participating in International scientific activities outside India. He has guided two PhD students and currently supervising three PhD students. He is a reviewer of leading scientific research journals published from American Institute of Physics, Springer, Cambridge Press, Taylor and Francis and Elsevier Publications. Dr. Walia got a place in world’s top 2% scientists List for the three consecutive years i.e. 2021, 2022 & 2023. This list was created by Stanford experts on the basis of standardized parameters like publications, journal impact, citations and composite score.
