B TECH MECHATRONICS (ELECTRIC VEHICLE ENGINEERING) IS THE FUTURE! THE FUTURE IS NOW!

B.Tech. in Mechatronics Engineering

To meet the demands of a rapidly advancing industry, DAV University has developed a specialization programme blended with both technical and life skills to be offered as Industry Integrated Degree Programme. This enables a comprehensive and immersive educational experience for the learners and prepares the graduates for a job and futuristic careers. There is always a continuing need for academic institutions to work closer with industry to keep pace with changes that takes place in Industry.

India's large market relies on traditional, fuel-intensive transport, which is unsustainable and harms climate commitments. Policymakers aim to develop a clean electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, driving market growth through government policies, automaker investments, and rising EV demand. The shift to electrification increases the need for skilled EV professionals in areas like batteries, charging stations, and vehicle design. EV skill training is crucial to meet current and future demands, helping individuals and organizations adapt and contribute to sustainable transportation.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry /Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject. An applicant should have secured at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST) in the above subjects taken together.

Why this programme?

DAV University in collaboration with L&T EduTech proposes setting up 'Centres of Excellence (CoE) in E- Mobility' on the campus to promote EV skill development. These CoEs will offer specialized training and certifications in EV technology, integrating lab research and deep skilling.

The programme provides essential EV skills, including battery systems, charging infrastructure, electric motors, and power electronics. They support new business models, product development, maintenance services, and job creation. We propose setting up a CoE in E-Mobility at your institution, backed by industry support and the EV ecosystem.

India's automotive industry is the fifth largest in the world. The EV market in India is expected to multiply from approximately

0.38 million units in 2020 to 6.34 million units by 2027, with a CAGR of 44% between 2020 and 2027. Although India's EV charging infrastructure is still in its nascency, India aims to install 4,00,000 EVcharging stations across the country by 2025.
