The Department of Microbiology has a well-equipped laboratory with modern research facilities including  UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Laminar Air Flow Chamber, Cooling Centrifuge, Autoclave, Light microscope, Water Bath, Orbital Shaker Incubator, Bacteriological Incubator, UV-Transilluminator, Hot Air Oven, Refrigerator, pH meter, Dry Bath, Weighing Balance, Magnetic Stirrer, Vortex and Gel Electrophoresis apparatus etc.

• The laboratory has various equipments like Laminar Air Flow chamber, autoclave, BOD incubator, shaking incubator, hot air oven.
• Various microbiological experiments like isolation of bacteria and fungi from environmental samples are routinely carried out in the lab.
• The lab also has facilities for microscopic and biochemical characterization of microbial isolates.
• The equipments like cooling centrifuge, gel electrophoresis unit and UV-Transilluminator are available in the departments which are used for isolation and visualization of bacterial and fungal DNA.
• The laboratory has UV-Visible spectrophotometer which is used for assessment of microbial growth as well as quantitative estimation of various enzymes.

The lab has ample chemicals for culturing various types of microbes like protease producing microbes, amylase secreting microbes, cellulase producing microbes, lipolytic microbes, nitrogen fixing bacteria, phosphate solubilizing bacteria, siderophore producing bacteria etc.
