The Department of Mathematics focuses primarily on teaching and research in order to uphold its tradition of providing high-quality education. The department boasts of its well-qualified faculty members who have received their doctoral degrees from reputed institutes/universities such as IISER, NIT, SLIET etc. The faculty members of the department are highly qualified and actively engaged in research, whose research interests include Complex Analysis, Algebra, Information Measures, Fuzzy Set Theory, Coding Theory, Divergence Measures, Sampling Theory and Thermoelasticity. The faculty members of the department have published a number of research papers in various international journals, indexed in SCI, Scopus, etc. The department is also offering PhD. program and at present three students are pursuing PhD. in the department.
Key Highlights
- Raj Kumar has research collaborations with various US Universities like Brigham Young University (BYU), Provo, Utah, Kent State University, Ohio etc. He had been invited, twice, as visiting research scientist at BYU, USA.
- Shelly Garg has been awarded with NANUM 2014 grant and Chebyshev grant to visit Seoul, South Korea and St. Petersburg, Russia for the purpose of attending and presenting her research work in International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM), the largest conference of the world in Mathematics.
- Rajesh Joshi figured among top 2% Scientists of the World as per the list published by Stanford University.
