Faculty Achievements
Dr. Shelly Garg, Coordinator of the Department of Mathematics, was selected for the Chebyshev grant by the International Mathematical Union for presenting her research work at the world’s largest International Mathematics Conference, ICM-2022, held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Dr. Raj Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, was invited by Brigham Young University, Provo, USA, with full funding for research collaboration and invited talks.
Faculty member Dr. Rajesh Joshi has made it to the list of the prestigious top two percent of scientists in the world.
Dr. Shelly Garg was also granted the NANUM grant by the International Mathematical Union for presenting her research work at ICM-2014, held in Seoul, South Korea.
Dr. Raj Kumar was awarded a research project by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, under the State Universities Research Excellence (SURE) scheme, worth Rs. 21 Lakh.
Students' Achievements
Students of Department of Mathematics, DAV University Jalandhar participated in the inter college competition organised by DAV college Jalandhar on Feb. 20, 2025 to celebrate National Mathematics Day to give tribute to Great Mathematician ‘Srinivasa Ramanujan’. 21 students of DAV University, Jalandhar participated in different events and won various prizes and overall trophy of the event. Amit, Atul and Avinash from final year B.Sc (Hons.) Mathematics bagged first position in Quiz competition. Anchal and Suman B.Sc II Mathematics bagged second position in Origami. The Overall trophy was also won by DAV University Jalandhar.
National Mathematics Day at DAV College, Jalandhar
- Gagan Walia (B.Sc I Mathematics) bagged second position in Poster Presentation.
- Harmandeep Kaur & Sanjeev (B.Sc II Mathematics) won first position in Model Making.
- Nikhil Chadha, Shivam Babbar & Rahul Kalia (B.Sc III Mathematics) secured third position in Quiz competition.
- Gunjita & Bhavya (M.Sc. Mathematics) won a consolation prize in Rangoli.
- The University secured overall 3rd position.
National Mathematics Day at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar
- Students from the Department of Mathematics, DAV University Jalandhar, participated in an inter-college competition organized by DAV College Jalandhar on February 20, 2025, to honor the great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
- 21 students from DAV University participated in various events, winning multiple prizes and the overall event trophy.
- Amit, Atual & Avinash (B.Sc Final Year, Hons. Mathematics) secured first position in the Quiz competition.
- Anchal & Suman (B.Sc II Mathematics) secured second position in Origami.
- The Overall Trophy was won by DAV University Jalandhar.
