Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Research Scholars

The Department aims to produce quality professionals to compete globally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging areas by forging strong industry-institute interaction. The Department has specialists from the fields of Device Electronics, Signal Processing, Microwave and Optical Engineering, Wireless Communication, Embedded Systems and VLSI Design. To encourage and facilitate research, the department has collaborated with numerous government state of the art research facilities. The Post Graduate students have worked in collaboration with CARE, IIT Delhi, SCL Mohali, CSIR Chandigarh to carry out their research activities. The Department has research publications in the renowned international journals indexed in Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch), Medline, SCOPUS, Google Scholar, EBSCO INSPEC, EMBASE etc.

 

Recent Department activities

ISF Congress: Department of ECE organized ISF Congress on 6th September 2017 at DAV University. The event was packed with the students’ activities in various events. Dr. K. K. Rattu, Director Media, DAV University, Prof. (Dr.) Satvir Singh, IKGPTU Jalandhar and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Banga, Principal, ACET Amritsar were the dignitaries of the function. Participants across the region from BITS Mesra Jaipur, ACET Amritsar, GNDEC Ludhiana, and DAVIET, SBBS University, LPU, GNA University, DAV University Jalandhar participated in different technical events.

IETE North Zone Seminar: Department of ECE in collaboration with IETE, New Delhi organized IETE North Zonal seminar at DAV University on 7th September 2017. In this seminar which was themed on “Role of OCT in modern World”, Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Awasthi explained the significance of ICT in resource management, waste management and smart transportation systems for upcoming smart habitats. Dr. Sanjay Sood, Joint Director, CDAC Mohali, presented an experiential view of how smart cities and technologies will lead to healthier and safer livelihood of citizens in a resource burdened future. Prof. Ravi Inder Singh, GNDU Amritsar, highlighted the need of architectural innovations and smart urban planning techniques that can make smart cities a reality.

IETE Foundation Day: On the Eve of 64th IETE foundation day, Department of ECE in collaboration with IETE organized an expert talk and workshop in the DAV University. The expert talk was delivered by Taran Manku, L & D Executive, Telcocrats Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This valuable talk was an eye opener for the students who want to pursue their career in the field of telecommunications. This lecture explored the modern-day opportunities and challenges in telecommunication sector.
