Completed a DST sponsored Project entitled “Identification of host targets of Cucumber mosaic virus in Cucumis sativus for pathogenicity” to identify the host factors which are directly involved in viral infection. During this tenure unrevealed the interaction of the 2b suppressor protein of the Cucumber mosaic virus with Glycine rich protein of cucumber which interacts with the Phloem Lectin protein of the host a component of the phloem transport responsible for the viral nucleic acid transport and resistance to viral infection.
