Dr. Kailash Nath Kaul, M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar had been the Officiating Registrar of DAV University, Jalandhar from 01-07-2015 to 30-06-2016. He joined the University as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), and also officiated as Dean Academics in June 2015.
Dr Kaul started his career as a lecturer in Chemistry at DAV College, Jalandhar and served the institution for 28 Years. He published six research article in journals of international repute. Later he was elevated as Principal of J C DAV College, Dasuya where he contributed in establishing new programmes including postgraduate courses in five Science subjects. His visionary approach led to the construction of Hostel Block, Collegiate School Block and Modernized Labs on the campus while he also procured the UGC grants worth Rs.1.5 Crore for the college. His hard work paid off and he was successful in getting the A grade awarded by NAAC to the institute he was heading.
He was also the Principal, DAV College, Amritsar (Accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC), a multi-faculty postgraduate college with student strength of nearly 4500 and nearly 350 staff members. He started several new courses and ensured grants worth Rs.3.5 Crore. He also organized and attended a large number of National, International Conferences and Seminars.
He is also a Member of Panjab University Senate and Syndicate, Member Various University Bodies, acted as Vice-Chancellor's nominee on various committees of the Panjab University and associated with a large number of institutions as advisor. He is also a former President, Arya Sarnaj Lohgarh, Amritsar.
He has been associated with NCC as Officer for 25 Years and commanded the NCC Unit at DAV College, Jalandhar for 17 Years. An ardent lover of adventure activities, he has organized and participated in a large number of State and National adventure and training activities. He believes in inspiring the students to become good human beings in addition to the achievement of academic excellence.
While at the DAV University, he evaluated the PhD thesis and conducted Viva-voce of two PhD scholars.
