Dr. Abhay Punia
Dr. Abhay Punia is a distinguished entomologist with a strong academic and research background in tri-trophic interactions involving pests, parasitoids, and host plants. He earned his Ph.D. in Zoology from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, where he was awarded the prestigious DST INSPIRE Fellowship (SRF) for his outstanding research contributions. He also qualified for the CSIR-NET and was honored with a Gold Medal for his exceptional performance in M.Sc. (Zoology).
With six years of research experience and four years of teaching experience, Dr. Punia currently works as an Assistant Professor at DAV University, Jalandhar. He has guided five M.Sc. students in their research and has published several research papers, book chapters, and conference presentations. His work focuses on insect physiology, biopesticides, and eco-friendly pest control methods, and his research has been published in reputed international journals.
Dr. Punia has been honored with the Young Researcher Award for his contributions to the field. He has actively participated in faculty development programs, workshops, and online courses, including earning an Elite + Gold certification in NPTEL courses.
