This reflects selfless service and the welfare of society on the whole.
SYMBOL and BADGE

The NSS symbol is embossed on the NSS badge. The symbol of the National Service Scheme is based on the wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Orissa which signifies the progressive cycle of life. The eight bars represent 24 hrs of the
day. It reminds to be in readiness for service of the nation. The Red colour indicates theactive energy and high spirit. The navy blue colour indicates the contributionwelfare of the mankind. It implies the continuous striving of NSS for social transformation and upliftment.
NSS CHARTER:
The NSS at Kits provides each student with a significant context in which He/She can arrive at a deeper understanding of social reality in India today. The NSS encourages the meaning of the life through service
Aims
Personality Development of students through community service.
The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are :
- understand the community in which they work
- understand themselves in relation to their community
iii. identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
- develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
- utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
- develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
vii. gain skills in mobilising community participation
viii. acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
- develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
- practise national integration and social harmony
