Duration: 3 Years (Semester System)
This is a three year programme. Students learn fundamental concepts of Botany and the allied disciplines of Chemistry and Life Sciences. The programme focuses on both classroom lectures as well as laboratory training.

Eligibility: Pass with 55% aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Rank in DAVUET (If applicable).

M Sc (Hons) Botany
Duration: 2 Years (Semester System)
The programme has been designed with an objective of imparting quality education and practical training to postgraduate students. Educational trips are arranged to various research institutes of national and international repute. Students are mentored and promoted to undertake research of international standard.
Researchers can explore the fields including preservation of natural resources, producing antibiotics for animals and humans from plants, phytoremediation, exploring interactions of plants with microbes, utilizing plants as a fuel source, increasing our air and water quality.
A post graduate degree in Botany makes the person eligible to opt for a career in teaching or to take up research work in any prominent University. Besides, state agencies need botanists in many different fields. Post graduates can join any reputed organization as environment consultants, plant explorers, ecologists, conservationists, nursery manager, taxonomist, horticulturist, plant biochemist, plant molecular biologist, plant pathologist, environmental consultant. They can also opt for self-employment by establishing agro- based small industries.
