World Sparrow day was celebrated on 20th March by DAV Zoological Society with great enthusiasm. World Sparrow Day is a day designated to raise awareness of the house sparrow and other common birds to urban environments, and of threats to their populations. It is an international initiative by the Nature Forever Society of India in collaboration with the Eco-Sys Action Foundation (France) and numerous other national and international organisations across the world. Students of the society made bird nest, bird water feeder, clay pots, posters and banners and hanged it on the tree branches. This awareness drive to protect house sparrow was done across the whole campus. Worthy Vice chancellor, Dr R.K. Mahajan, Registrar,  Dr Sushma Arya, Dean Academics, Dr. Desh Bandhu, Dean Student Welfare, Dr Jasbir Rishi, Head of the Department, Dr Tejinder Kaur, and other faculty members of the department took part in the event. This effort by the society was highly appreciated by the Vice chancellor.
