DAV university celebrated Teacher’s Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. Students paid tribute to the great teacher Late Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and a great teacher, on whose birthday this day is celebrated. On this occasion student participated in various competitions like Poster Making, Card Making and poetry recitation.The celebrations started with DAV Gaan followed by lighting of lamp by Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jasbir Rishi; Registrar, Dr. K.N. Kaul and Dean Academics Dr. R.K Seth. While addressing the students and faculty members, Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi read the message of Dr. PunamSuri, Chancellor, DAV University. Padamshree Dr. Punam Suri expressed his gratitude and regards to teaching fraternity. He also encouraged the teachers to make their students aware of the rich culture and heritage.
Dr. Jasbir Rishi said that the objective of this celebration is to acknowledge and applaud the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the young minds. She also motivated the young teachers to be more responsible towards the future generation.
Registrar, Dr. K.N Kaulsaid that a teacher is guide, who instills confidence in young minds, gives them direction and encourages them to dream high. It is the responsibility of each and every teacher to work hard and enlighten lives of their students.
Dean Academics, Dr. R.K Seth o said that o ur teachers are the true pillars of our success. They educate and impart values to students that help them develop their self esteem and social consciousness.
Students participated in various competitions with full zeal and enthusiasm. In Poster Making competition, Pratikshya Das got 1st position , Anjali Kumari got 2ndposition and Iknoor Saini got 3rdposition.
Through Card Making competition students showed their creativity by presenting their thoughts on teacher student relationship. Aishrica got 1st position, Riya got 2nd position and Gagan Walia got 3rd position.
Students expressed love and affection for their teachers in poetry recitation. In this competition Abhshekh Upadhayay got 1st position, Tanya Sharma and Mehak got 2nd position and Stuti Shri and Gurjot Singh got 3rdposition .
Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jasbir Rishi congratulated the winners and gave prizes to them. On this occasion Coordinators and faculty members of various departments were present.
