University successfully organized an Expert Talk on the topic “Smart Investing with Mutual
Funds: Your Path to Financial Growth” on 16th April, 2026, delivered by the resource person,
Mr. Shubham Bhatia, Financial Advisor and Business Owner, who conducted an insightful
and engaging session.
The session aimed to enhance financial literacy among students, provide practical exposure to
investment strategies in today’s dynamic financial environment, and enable them to make
prudent investment decisions.
The discussion comprehensively covered key aspects such as types of mutual funds,
prevailing market trends, portfolio construction strategies, and systematic investment
approaches including SIP, STP, and SWP.
A key highlight of the session was an interactive group activity on creating an ideal mutual
funds portfolio, wherein students were divided into teams and given a hypothetical
investment scenario. Each group was required to decide an investment amount and allocate it
across different mutual fund categories based on their understanding of risk and return. This
activity enabled students to practically apply theoretical concepts and strengthen their
financial decision-making skills.
The session witnessed active participation from students, who showed keen interest and
engaged actively, including a query–discussion segment that provided an opportunity to seek
clarification on various aspects of smart investing.
The initiative by the CBME Department reflects its commitment to bridging the gap between
academic learning and real-world financial practices, thereby empowering students with
essential life skills.
The session was graced by the presence of Dr. Gitika Nagrath, Dean, CBME & Humanities;
Dr. Sandeep Vij, Head of the Department; Dr. Ashutosh Gupta; Mr. Surinder Mohan Sharma;
Dr. Satinder Kumar; Mr. Ajay K Khullar; Mr. Kewal Krishan; Ms. Bindia Daroch; Mr. Vinod;
and Ms. Pallavi, whose participation added value to the program. The event was coordinated
by Ms. Simran Kaur and Ms. Ishmeen.
The event concluded on a successful note, leaving participants more confident, informed, and
better equipped to make sound investment decisions, while fostering a deeper awareness of
financial planning and wealth creation.
