DAV University, Jalandhar organized a Principals’ Conclave with its Regional Director, Additional Directors and Principals of DAV and non-DAV institutions from various parts of the country.
Addressing the guests, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Rakesh Kumar Mahajan said that the University would start integrated four-year BA LLB course from the new academic session. Dr. Mahajan, apprised them of the new courses had been introduced in the University from the coming academic session. He said that the University introduced 4-year integrated BA B Ed and B Sc B Ed courses in 2018-19. Students would save one year by enrolling in this course after completing 10+2.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the University had started construction of a new boys’ hostel and started making the campus greener. The University was setting up solar power plant on the campus.
The VC also highlighted the work done by Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) adding that the library was being digitalized. The Registrar Dr Sushma Arya apprised the guests of scholarships available to students.
The RDs, ARDs and Principals have been managing the institutions in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. They also visited the academic blocks, advanced engineering and science laboratories and the library. They interacted with the faculty and students and talked about modern trends in education, training and placements.
He also sought the guests for their suggestions for improving the standard of teaching and overall growth of the University to the international standard. Dr. Mahajan said that he aimed at inculcating discipline, decorum and overall development of the students.
Dean Academics Dr Desh Bandhu Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) Dr Jasbir Rishi and former Registrar Dr K N Kaul were also present at the occasion.
