The noted agricultural economist Dr. Sardara Singh Johl has called upon teaching fraternity to become role model for their students. Dr Johl, who was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory function at the week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Psychometric Testing and Behavioral Assessment organized by the Department of Psychology, DAV University, said that a teacher’s approach to life leaves a deep impact on students’ lives.
The FDP was aimed at teaching counsellors, psychologists, teachers, teacher trainees, and other professionals about the management and interpretation of various psychometric tests to gauge human traits like intelligence, personality, aptitude and attitude.
Earlier, Dr. Johl was welcomed by Dr Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, Vice-Chancellor, Mr Rajan Gupta, Executive Director, Dr. Sushma Arya, Registrar and Dr Jasbir Rishi, Dean Academics. The Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for visiting the University and providing an opportunity to the faculty members and other participants at the FDP to interact with him. Dr Johl also released the proceedings of the FDP and a book written by Ms. Navjot Kaur – a student of the University.
The Dean Academics read out a report on the FDP, which was followed by a panel discussion on “Depression and Aggression Among Youth” by the students of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor honoured Dr. Sardar Singh Johl. The participants were awarded the certificates of participation. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sushma Arya, Registrar, who congratulated all the participants and the organizers on the successful completion of the programme. She appreciated the efforts made by Dean Dr. Jasbir Rishi (Chief Patron), Er. Vipan Bansal and Er. Arvind Mahindru. Amanjot Kaur, Dr. Jashandeep Kaur, Ms. Amanpreet Kaur, Ms. Amneet Kaur, Ms. Sonia Sharma, and Dr. Nakul Kundra (Members of Organizing team). Dr. Jasbir Rishi, the coordinator for the FDP, said that this FDP would have been impossible without the support, guidance, and motivation of our Chancellor Dr. Punam Suri, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, Sh Rajan Gupta, Executive Director and Registrar Dr. Sushma Arya.
