The School of Law and Legal Studies organized an educational visit for its students to observe the proceedings of the National Lok Adalat held at the District & Sessions Courts, Jalandhar on 14 March 2026.
The Bench was presided over by Sh. Naresh Kumar Garg, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Jalandhar. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to closely observe the conduct of Lok Adalat proceedings and to gain first-hand exposure to the practical functioning of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms within the justice delivery system.
Students also interacted with Sh. Rahul Kumar Azad, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority–cum–Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jalandhar, who briefed them on the functioning and significance of National Lok Adalat in ensuring speedy and accessible justice.
National Lok Adalats constitute a significant institutional mechanism aimed at facilitating the expeditious, cost-effective, and amicable settlement of disputes, thereby strengthening access to justice and contributing to the reduction of case pendency before regular courts.
