The second day of Punjabi Intellectuals Meet at DAV University was marked by thought-provoking discussions on cutting-edge research, sustainable development, and the intersection of science and society.

The day began with a technical session chaired by Dr. R.C. Sobti, Honorary Scientist, INSA and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV University.

Eminent researchers from across the globe presented their groundbreaking work. Dr. Bharat Bhargava from Purdue University, USA, delved into Collaborative Attacks and Defense, shedding light on emerging cybersecurity threats and their countermeasures. 

Dr. Hardev Singh Virk from Punjabi University, Patiala, addressed the Investigation of Groundwater Contamination due to Heavy Metals for Sustainable Development of Agriculture in Punjab, highlighting environmental concerns critical to the region’s agrarian economy.

The fifth session, chaired by Dr. K.N. Kaul and Dr. K.S. Thind, featured Dr. Ronki Ram from Panjab University, Chandigarh, who discussed Exploring Viable Avenues for Linking Social Science Research with Problem-Solving Mechanisms in Contemporary Punjab. This session emphasized the integration of social sciences to address societal challenges in Punjab.

Participants also had an interactive session with students, fostering dialogue between young minds and seasoned intellectuals.

The valedictory session, chaired by Dr. R.C. Sobti, was the highlight of the day. It included remarks by the organizing committee members, including Dr. N.R. Dhamiwal, Secretary of the Punjab Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Amrik Singh Ahluwalia. 

Dr. H. S. Buttar and the President of the Punjab Academy of Sciences delivered key addresses, appreciating the efforts to bridge gaps between traditional heritage and modern scientific inquiry.

Awards for the best poster and oral presentations were presented, encouraging young researchers to excel in their respective fields.
