Prof. K.C. Bansal, Ex-Director of a premier institute of the country – the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBPGR), New Delhi visited DAV University and interacted with students and faculty members. During his visit, he delivered two lectures on Role of Science in Agriculture, Food and Nutrition and Genetic Improvement of Crops through Biotechnological Interventions.

During his talk he emphasized on the urgent need of biotechnological approaches for fastening the genetic improvement programmes with great precision and accuracy. He also advocated for the adoption of genetically engineered crops and propounded that GE crops will be accepted by the nations and societies across the globe as the science can never be denied and neglected for long. 

Dr. Naresh Sahajpal, Dean Academics welcomed and introduced Dr. K.C. Bansal to the students and faculty. Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.K. Paul also graced the occasion. This was the first invited talk for Agriculture undergraduate students under RAWE programme. Dr. Rahul Kumar, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences presented vote of thanks.
