Faculty orientation programme on academic ethics, institutional policies and strategic directions

The 2-day faculty orientation programme held on August 21-22, 2023, aimed to provide faculty members with essential knowledge about academic ethics, institutional policies, and strategic directions. The event kicked off with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the DAV Gaan, symbolizing the institution's commitment to knowledge and enlightenment. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Manoj Kumar, delivered an inspiring address that highlighted the institution's vision and mission, emphasizing the pivotal role faculty play in shaping the educational landscape. Following this, Registrar Dr. K. N. Kaul elaborated on the administrative framework and collaborative opportunities available to faculty members.

The morning continued with a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Anju Pathania on the Code of Academic Ethics, where she underscored the importance of integrity and accountability in academia. Dr. R.K. Seth, Dean of Academics, engaged participants in a session on “Choices and Challenges in Academic Settings,” discussing the complexities and decision-making processes inherent in the academic environment. Mr. Arvind Mahindru’s lecture on “Strengthening Trust and Integrity” reinforced the necessity of building a culture of trust within the academic community.

The second day began with a lecture by Dr. Tejinder Kaur on “Strategic Direction for Academic Units,” where she outlined priorities for aligning departmental goals with institutional objectives. Dr. Sandeep Kumar’s session familiarized participants with institutional behavior policies, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a respectful and productive academic environment. After a communal lunch, faculty members enjoyed a guided campus tour, which helped them familiarize themselves with essential facilities and resources.
