Faculty of Agricultural Sciences organizes a One-Day Workshop on Sustainable Agriculture through Natural Farming and Artificial Intelligence

Today, on 29th September 2026, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, DAV University, Jalandhar, organized a one-day workshop on “Sustainable Agriculture through Natural Farming and Artificial Intelligence” at Daulatpur Village. The workshop aimed to create awareness among farmers about sustainable agricultural practices and the emerging role of digital technologies in agriculture.

The workshop witnessed active participation from farmers of Daulatpur and Kishangarh villages, along with the Sarpanches of both villages, making the programme highly interactive and community-oriented.

Participants were introduced to Jeevamrit and Beejamrit, including their importance, ingredients, preparation methods, application, and benefits for soil and crop health. A practical demonstration on their preparation using locally available materials was also conducted.

A student-led skit on the applications of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture highlighted how AI-based tools can assist farmers in decision-making, particularly through AI-based crop disease identification using photographs of affected plant parts.

The workshop emphasized the integration of sustainable farming practices with modern digital technologies for more informed, efficient, and sustainable agriculture.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Priti Singh, Dr. Rashika Mahajan, and Mr. Maninder Singh, and provided a valuable platform for meaningful interaction between students and the farming community.
