Dr. Shahzad Aasim from Kashmir Delivered a Lecture on Clinical Aspects of Music, Sound and Acoustics

Dr. Shahzad Aasim, Research Head, Neuro Psychoacoustic Research Centre, Cluster University of Srinagar, delivered an online guest lecture on “Clinical Aspects of Music, Sound and Acoustics in Context of Neuro-Pyscho, Neuro-Physio and Neuro-Acoustic Mechanism” to the students of DAV University, Jalandhar, on 17th May 2021. More than 75 students attended this lecture and derived much benefit from the resource person’s views.

 

Dr. Aasim explored how music affected different groups of people and how it could play a role in health care. He clearly explained the mechanism behind sounds and opened up the scientific secrets of music. He revealed how the music therapy worked and how experts in this field could diagnose and treat depression, anxiety, neurological disorders, heart ailments, and the like with the help of music, sound, and acoustics. All the participants highly appreciated Dr. Aasim for his thought-provoking lecture.

 

Dr. Jasbir Rishi (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. R. K. Seth (Dean, Academics), and Dr. K. N. Kaul (Registrar) expressed their gratitude to Dr. Aasim for his precious time and sharing his knowledge with the students; they congratulated Dr. Nakul Kundra (Coordinator, Department of English), Dr. Harjot Kaur (Coordinator, Department of Psychology) and Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Najar (Assistant Professor, Department of English) on the successful organization of the lecture.
