The Team of Doordarshan visited the campus of DAV University for recording of TV Channel’s programnme DD Punjabi Rocks. The programme will be aired across 36 countries via satellite network on August 23 at 3:00 pm. The students pursuing education in different streams gathered near the Academic Block for the recording of the programme and performed songs, dances and played different games. The fun filled even was hosted by Ms Teenu Sharma – a noted anchor and actor.

The event was also a cultural treat for the new students as they had an opportunity to enjoy Himachali Folk songs including Maye Ni Maeriye, Punjabi folk Long Gwacha performed by Mannat, act by Kritika Bhau and mimicry by Nitika. Flute performance by Divya Sharma, Bhangra, Gidha and western dances by gropus of students were also well received. A fitness freak Viresh also got an opportunity to show off his “six packs” while two international Judo players studying at the University shared their experience witrh audience. One of the students imitated Dr Yeshveer Singh, Director Sports and their teacher.

The Vice Chancellor of the University Dr A K Paul, Executive Director Mr Rajan Gupta, IPS and Registrar of the University Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj also interacted with the team and gave their messages to students and public. The event was supported by the University teachers Dr Yeshveer Singh, Dr Nishi Madaan, Ms Ridhi Kapoor, Mr Ranjodh Singh while Mr Vikas Prashar, CMD, VIP Motion Pictures provided support for taking still pictures of the events.
