Dr Punam Suri, Chancellor, DAV University called upon the teaching and non-teaching fraternity to embrace innovation, imbibe out of the box thinking and evolve with the changing international scenario. The Chancellor said that keeping pace with the changing times is important to remain future ready.
Dr Punam Suri and his wife Mrs Mani Suri were welcomed by Mrs J Kackria and Sh J P Shoor, Directors, DAV CMC, New Delhi, Vice Chancellor Dr Rakesh Mahajan, Dean Academic Dr Desh Bandhu Gupta, Registrar Dr Sushma Arya, Dean Students’ Welfare Dr Jasbir Rishi, senior officers of the University and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff.
A cultural show was put up to welcome the Chancellor. Manan Saini, a student of the University performed kathak to welcome the Chancellor followed bybhangra and performance by students reliving folk entertainment genre of bhands.
The Chancellor also took stock of the ongoing research in collaboration with international and Indian funding agencies and institutions. He also appreciated projects prepared by the students of various departments.
The Chancellor dedicated the entire day to meet the faculty members, students and functionaries of the University. He also interacted with the students pursuing four-year integrated BSc B Ed and BA B Ed courses on the campus. Speaking to those students, he said that DAV had more than 900 institutions across the country and the placement of all eligible students was assured. He also motivated them to imbibe integrity and honesty while passionately pursuing the profession. He said that hard-working students had a bright future and there was no dearth of opportunities for earning a lucrative livelihood.
