DAV University starts new session with yajna and orientation programme

The Induction programme at DAV University was organized to welcome newly admitted students and provide a strong foundation for students to embark on their academic journey with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities within the university.

The programme began with a Havan Yajna, a traditional ceremony held to seek blessings for the new academic year. This spiritual practice, deeply rooted in the values of DAV institutions, created an atmosphere of positivity and unity.

Following the Yajna, Dr. Jasbir Rishi, the Vice Chancellor, delivered a powerful inaugural address. She welcomed the students to the university and spoke about the institution’s longstanding commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Dr. Rishi emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and hard work, encouraging students to make the most of their time at DAV University. Dr. R. K. Seth, Dean Academics, conducted a detailed lecture on the code of conduct that students are expected to follow. He discussed the importance of academic discipline, honesty, and respect within the university community. Dr. Seth provided students with insights into the university’s policies on attendance, and examinations, emphasizing the significance of adhering to these rules for a successful academic career.

The next session was led by the Registrar, Dr. K. N. Kaul, who addressed the administrative aspects of university life. Dr. Kaul provided essential information on university regulations, admissions, and student services. He also spoke about the university's various support systems, including student welfare, hostel facilities, and medical services.

Dr. Smriti Khosla introduced the students to the wide range of clubs and committees available at DAV University. These include cultural, literary, sports, and technical clubs, as well as societies focused on social service, leadership, and innovation.

After the sessions, a Langar (community meal) was organized for students and staff.

The next day, students were delivered a comprehensive lecture on strategies for efficient time management, including prioritization, scheduling, and overcoming procrastination. Additionally, the session covered mindfulness techniques such as meditation and reflective practices to improve focus and reduce stress. Dr. Tejinder Kaur led an engaging discussion on the importance of community engagement, outlining various ways individuals and organizations can contribute to societal well-being. The session included examples of successful community projects and the impact of social responsibility on personal and professional growth.

The students were provided insights into the entrepreneurial mindset, including innovation, risk management, and business planning. The Talent Hunt featured performances and displays of various skills and talents. Recreational activities and sports included team games, individual competitions, and fun group challenges.

The feedback from participants indicated high satisfaction with the programme's content and structure, with particular appreciation for the practical skills and community-focused sessions.
