DAV University organised a Blood Donation Camp on the University campus on Wednesday. A total of 125 blood units were collected in the camp and 100 have registered for emergency blood bank.
Capt. Subhash Chand, Regional Director, NSS witnessed the camp and interacted with the students on the occasion. He told them choosing to be a volunteer of NSS is a very good step that NSS volunteers have taken and motivated others to be volunteers. He said that working for NSS is all about taking the knowledge that one is getting in ones’ discipline to the community.
Vice Chancellor Dr A K Paul and Registrar Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj congratulated the donors for being a part of such a noble cause of donating blood. They also praised the NSS Unit to successfully organise the Camp second time in the University.
A team of doctors and other staff from Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar assisted the Unit in organising the camp. Dr Silky, Dr Satinderjeet and Dr Parvesh visited the campus.
Dr Samriti Khosla, Dr Raj Kumar Garg, Dr Mamta, Dr Raj Bala, Dr Anil, Dr Rakesh and Ms. Shivani coordinators, NSS Unit made all the arrangements for the camp.
It can be noted here that this is the second Blood Donation Camp which the Unit is organising. Last year, the Unit has organised a camp in collaboration with Rotary Club and Ruby Hospital and had collected 130 blood units.
