DAV University Jalandhar celebrated National Sports Day on the eve of Birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. Cross country was organised in association with Physical Education Foundation of India (PFEI) on 31st August 2017. Event was postponed from 29th August 2017 due to administrative reasons. T-shirts were distributed to all the participants. Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr) AK Paul Vice Chancellor, DAV University flagged of the 5Kms race for women and 12Kms race for men section at 6:00am from Academic Block of the University. Dr Yeshbeer Singh- Dy Director Sports and President PEFI Punjab Chapter was present with other faculty members of Department of Physical Education and Agriculture. Winners in both the category were awarded with cash prize, medal and certificate by Dr Yeshbeer Singh. He encouraged all the participants and ensured the participants that cash prizes and consolation prizes will be increased by the increase in the number of participants in the successive years.
