DAV University has unveiled an innovative Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme in Retail Management in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The programme is aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills for the professional world.
The partnership was solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organisations during the event. This groundbreaking initiative by DAV University and Maruti Suzuki India Limited seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry demands, ultimately paving the way for a highly skilled and capable workforce in the retail management sector.

Commencing from the academic session of 2023-24, the BBA programme integrates a unique blend of classroom learning and on-the-job training. With a strong emphasis on skill development and fostering young entrepreneurs, the initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.
Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Sinha, Vice President of Training Academy at Maruti Suzuki India Limited was the chief guest and Justice N K Sud, Vice President of DAV CMC, New Delhi was the guest of honour.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Sinha emphasized the scarcity of trained and capable manpower in the country. He highlighted the distinctive feature of the programme, which allows students to earn a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month while gaining practical skills at Maruti Suzuki dealerships across major cities in Chandigarh and Punjab, including Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jammu, and tri-city Chandigarh.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of DAV University, expressed his commitment to producing industry-ready professionals. He emphasized that collaborative programmes with industry leaders would enhance students' employability and lead to better perks upon placement.
Mr. Himanshu Asopa, Regional Manager for Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir at Arena Channel, recognized the critical role skilled young graduates would play in shaping the future of the industry.
