DAV University Hosts Two-Day Workshop on Academic e-
Resources
The Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) in collaboration with the Internal Quality
Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DAV University, Jalandhar, successfully organised a
comprehensive two-day workshop titled “Beyond the Books: Navigating Library’s
e-Resources” on September 29–30, 2026. Held at the Mahatma Hans Raj
Auditorium, the event aimed to empower faculty members, research scholars, and
postgraduate students with advanced skills to effectively navigate digital databases
and virtual academic platforms.The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-
lighting ceremony attended by key university officials, including Registrar Prof. (Dr.)
S. K. Arora, Prof. (Dr.) K. N. Kaul, Chairman of the Library Advisory Committee,
Ms. Maninder Kaur Sood, Incharge of the Knowledge Resource Centre ; Dr. Sapna
Sethi, Director of IQAC; Library Advisory Committee members; deans &
coordinators. In his inaugural address, Prof. Arora highlighted that a modern library is
vital to building an environment of academic excellence, noting that workshops like
this are critical to strengthening the university's research culture. Dr. Ashutosh
Sharma, Associate Professor of Agricultural Sciences and Library Advisory
Committee member, formally introduced the two-day schedule. The workshop offered
deep-dive, practical exposure to leading global academic platforms across two
days.The technical sessions on the first day provided participants with an orientation
to My Loft (My Library on Fingertips), Perlego and ProQuest Research Library.
Notably, Mr. Vaibhav Goyal (Senior Training Manager, MyLoft) led a session on
virtual libraries, highlighting the convenience of remote, 24/7 resource access and the
importance of adapting to evolving digital technologies. The second day featured
sessions on JSTOR conducted by Mr.Vineet Bhardwaj, Turnitin Feedback Studio by
Ms Ashita Khandelwal, EBSCO Host by Mr.Ritesh Kumar Jha and Manupatra by
Mr.Sanjay Sharma. At the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manoj
Kumar felicitated the guest resource persons and commended the collaborative
efforts of the KRC and IQAC teams. Concluding the event, Prof. (Dr.) K. N. Kaul
delivered the formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the university leadership
and guest speakers while urging the academic community to actively integrate these
digital assets into their daily teaching and research workflows…
