DAV University Hosts Successful 10-Day NCC Training Camp; 597 Cadets Participate
Jalandhar, June 14, 2026: DAV University, Jalandhar successfully hosted the ten-day
Combined Annual Training Camp-37 (CATC-37) organized by the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion
from June 5 to June 14, 2026. The camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 597 NCC
cadets from various schools and colleges across the region. The residential camp was
designed to develop leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, self-confidence, and a spirit of
national service among the cadets. During the ten-day programme, cadets received intensive
training in military drill, physical fitness, weapon handling, map reading, field craft, disaster
management, and various NCC subjects. Several sports competitions, cultural programmes,
and group activities were also organized to promote national integration, camaraderie, and
overall personality development.
During the closing ceremony, Camp Commandant Col Dalbir Singh lauded the dedication,
discipline, and enthusiasm displayed by the cadets throughout the camp. He emphasized the
vital role of NCC in nurturing responsible citizens and future leaders of the nation and
encouraged the cadets to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity, and selfless service. Col
Dalbir Singh expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV
University, for providing the university campus and extending wholehearted support for the
successful conduct of the camp. He appreciated the excellent infrastructure, facilities, and
administrative assistance provided by the University, which contributed significantly to the
smooth execution of the training programme.
A notable highlight of the camp was the excellent performance of the NCC cadets of DAV
University. Several DAV University cadets actively participated in various competitions
conducted during the camp and brought laurels to the University by winning medals and
securing top positions in different events. Their achievements in drill, sports, cultural
activities, and other competitive events reflected their dedication, discipline, and commitment
to excellence. The camp also featured a variety of inter-company competitions in drill, sports,
cultural activities, and NCC knowledge, offering cadets opportunities to demonstrate their
skills and competitive spirit. Outstanding performers were felicitated during the valedictory
ceremony.
The successful management of the camp was ensured under the supervision of Subedar
Major Gulzar Singh, with the support of military staff, instructors, and NCC officers.
Associate NCC Officers Lt. Rahul Bhardwaj and Lt. Ahmad Husain, Chief Officer
Vinay Kumar, Chief Officer V.K. Suri, and Second Officer Vandana Sharma played a
significant role in mentoring and guiding the cadets throughout the camp. The camp
concluded on a high note, leaving the participants with enhanced leadership skills, greater
self-discipline, and a renewed commitment to nation-building and community service, truly
reflecting the NCC motto, "Unity and Discipline."
