DAV University Hosts Inter-Department Football Tournament

Jalandhar, September 12, 2026: DAV University organised an Inter-Department Football Tournament from September 7 to 11, 2026, at the University Football Ground, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students across various departments.

The tournament provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their football skills while fostering team spirit, discipline, sportsmanship and healthy competition among the university community. The matches witnessed spirited performances from both boys' and girls' teams, with players displaying determination and competitive zeal throughout the tournament.

In the Boys' category, the Department of Physical Education emerged as the winners, securing the first position. The CBME team finished second, while CSA secured the third position.

In the Girls' category, the Department of Physical Education once again claimed the first position. CSA secured the second position, followed by the Department of Agriculture in third place.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yeshbeer Singh, Director, Sports and Physical Education, appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of all the participating teams. He said, “Sports are an integral part of university life as they nurture discipline, teamwork, leadership and resilience. The enthusiasm displayed by our students throughout the tournament is truly encouraging. I congratulate all the winners and participants for their sporting spirit and commend them for making the tournament a successful and memorable event.”

The event concluded on a positive note, celebrating not only the achievements of the winning teams but also the spirit of participation, camaraderie and sportsmanship that defined the tournament.
