Tanu, a student of B Sc (Hons) Physics at DAV University has won laurels for participating in the 68th Republic Day Parade. She was also a part of the Guard of Honour which was reviewed on different occasions by the Vice President of India, Prime Minister, three service chiefs and other important dignitaries during their visits to the Republic Day Camp (RDC) in New Delhi.
She was a part of NCC’s Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh directorate which won the championship banner for the third time in a row. At the RDC, 17 NCC directorates had vied for the coveted banner, awarded to the best contingent.
Tanu was only one among total 15 girl cadets from Punjab participating in the RDC to be selected for the prestigious Guard of Honour.
“I have been part of the NCC for two years. Participation in the Republic Day Parade is just the beginning of my journey into the field of combat forces. I want to join the Army and serve the nation,” said Tanu.
The University authorities congratulated Tanu on her achievement. Dr. A. K. Paul, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj, Registrar and NCC Coordinator Dr. Gurmeet Singh felicitated her on the campus. Dr Paul said that Tanu had done the University proud and wished she fulfills all her dreams.
