DAV University organised a cycle rally and other functions throughout the day to commemorate the 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The students of the University also remembered Bhagat Singh’s contribution in the freedom struggle.

Prof Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said that the day held importance to all the DAV institutions as Bhagat Singh was one of the illustrious DAV alumni. While discussing Bhagat Singh’s life as DAV student, Dr. Manoj Kumar said that everyone owed the martyr the sincerest gratitude for his supreme sacrifice. The Registrar of the University, Prof (Dr.) K N Kaul described how the young freedom fighter shaped the freedom movement by influencing the youth.

Ms. Nishi, Dean Students’ Welfare highlighted the importance of the day while Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, Dy. Director sports expressed that Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji is an ideology to be remembered for ages by all the generations. Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Associate Professor, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences made a presentation about various key events in the life of the young energetic Bhagat Singh which shaped him into a visionary freedom Fighter. A play was also staged by the students on the life of the martyr.
