Cultural Bonanza at DAV University

DAV University bubbled up with great enthusiasm as it celebrated Echelon, its annual event of Hostel Night on 22nd November 2017. The occasion was a great moment of rejoicing for the hostellers of the university who were given an opportunity to display their extraordinary talent in various cultural events. The event was organised by Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Jasbir Rishi and Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, the Director of Sports and the Chief Warden of boys and girls hostels, under the able guidance of Mr. Rajan Gupta, the Executive Director. The occasion was graced by the esteemed officials of the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr A.K Paul, Executive Director Mr Rajan Gupta and the Dean Academics Dr Jasbir Rishi.

The function commenced with the DAV anthem followed by a devotional song  that enthralled the audience and gave a befitting start to a high-spirited night. This was succeeded by a series of dance performances by students like Bhangra,Naati and folk dances of various states representing the cultural diversity of both the DAV University and our nation. Mr. Shubham and Ms Ankita won the Mr Hostel and Ms Hostel titles respectively with Mr. Nikhil and Mr. Taqdir and Ms Meenakshi and Ms Manali as the first and second runners-up respectively.

 

More fervour and enthusiasm was added to the event by the star performer, Ninja who brought the stage to life with his extraordinary energy, vitality and spontaneity. His presence thrilled the students beyond measure as he sang songs from his popular albums. The students thanked Ninja with a small token, a sketch of him made out of love. He was honoured by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr A.K Paul, Executive Director Mr Rajan Gupta and the Dean Academics Dr Jasbir Rishi and felicitated with a DAV memento.
