DAV University celebrated the country's 75th year of Independence “AzadiKaAmritMahotsava”  with full honor and respect. On this occasion the National Flag was hoisted by the ViceChancellor,Dr. Jasbir Rishi in the presence of the large gathering of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff. The young students actively participated in the celebration.  To expose the young minds to the rich and diverse heritage of the country, HarGharTiranga rally was also organized.  Students, faculty, staff participated with great enthusiasm.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi read the Chancellor, Dr. Punam Suri’s  message in which he urged the young students to make the nation strong and vibrant. Through his message, he motivated the youth to seek freedom from ignorance. Unless we get this freedom, the “votes for notes” and the “freebies” will carry on depriving us of true freedom.

Dr. Jasbir Rishi, in her special address, reminded the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters of the country and said that we have to fulfill the responsibility we have towards the country with full devotion. Stressing upon Chancellor Dr. Punam Suri message she advised students to take a pledge to fight for the Freedom from Ignorance. During the celebration, a competition on the theme of patriotic songs was also organized in which students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

 On this occasion, Registrar,DAV University,  Dr. K.N. Kaul; Dean Academics, Dr. R. K Seth; Department Coordinators; Staff (teaching and non-teaching) were also present .
