More than 500 cadets from various parts of north zone participated in a 10-day NCC campt held at DAV University. The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) was organised under the leadership of Col Karan Pathania, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab Battalion, NCC, Jalandhar. The NCC cadets participated in various activities including basic training, weapon-training, physical training, games, field craft, battle craft, social work, personality development, water conservation, drug addiction and firefighting.
The students of DAV University put up an impressive cultural function for the cadets as a parting goodwill gesture. The University Vice-Chancellor Dr Desh Bandhu Gupta also addressed the cadets. The cultural function was coordinated by Dr Jasbir Rishi, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW).
NCC had deputed Col Ajat Nayyar, Sub Major Balwinder Singh, Sub Major Training JCO Sub Avtar Singh, Naib Sub Amarjeet Singh, Gurjant Singh for conducting the camp. The CO Col Karan Pathania said that NCC appreciated the goodwill gesture of DAV University for hosting and providing facilities for the camp.
