Overview: The NSS Unit at DAV University, Jalandhar, organized a two day Waste Management and cleanliness drive at Sarmastpur Village. The camp aimed to promote environmental sustainability and create a cleaner campus and surrounding villages.
Key Objectives:
- To raise awareness about the importance of waste management and its impact on the environment.
- To educate participants on effective waste management practices.
- To implement waste management initiatives on the university campus and in adopted villages.
- Orientation: Participants received an orientation on the objectives, activities, and expected outcomes of the camp.
- Waste Management Training: Volunteers were provided with training on waste segregation, recycling, and composting techniques.
- First day NSS volunteers did cleaning near the school in Sarmastpur village. The cleaning process also carried out on 28.05.2023 in Sarmastpur village. The students motivated villager for cleanliness and also collected waste especially plastic waste.
Conclusion: The first day of the NSS Seven-Day Camp on Waste Management set the stage for a productive and impactful camp. The orientation and training sessions provided a strong foundation for the upcoming activities and helped participants understand the importance of waste management in creating a cleaner and greener environment.
