On May 13, 2023, DAV University organized a training program focused on Making Cloth Bags for women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Village Karari. This event was conducted in collaboration with Project Green Sparrow and the S. Ajit Singh Foundation, Jalandhar, and was attended by a total of 34 participants.
The training aimed to provide women with the skills to create eco-friendly cloth bags from waste cloths, thus promoting sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact. Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur led the training, offering practical instruction on various techniques for bag-making. The session included hands-on activities where participants learned how to repurpose waste cloths into reusable bags.
By the end of the training, participants had acquired valuable skills in fabric handling, sewing techniques, and bag design, which they can use to produce cloth bags for personal use or as a small-scale business opportunity.
Conclusion:
The Making Cloth Bags training program was successful in equipping women with practical skills to create sustainable products from waste materials.
